What is RCIA?

RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is the process by which a person becomes a Catholic. There are weekly classes with teaching and discussions. There are various rites or public ceremonies in the Church throughout the process. If you would like to learn more about the Catholic Church and possibly become a member of the Catholic Church, please contact Ginny Haney in the Parish Office at 570-275-2512 for meeting times.
Throughout the RCIA process, you will have a Catholic sponsor. This person will attend classes with you, stand with you at the various rites, and help you on your spiritual journey. Your sponsor could be your spouse(if Catholic) , a Catholic friend of yours, or someone we will find in the parish. Becoming a part of the RCIA does not obligate you to become a Catholic. There is no pressure!
If this sounds interesting to you, please consider this as your personal invitation to join us. Contact Ginny Haney at 275-2512. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you and answer any questions.

What do we expect from people in the RCIA?
